Israel's defense exports fuel Poland's SAFE program and Berlin Iron Dome demo

Israel’s defence industry reached a record $20 billion in arms sales in 2025, a 30 % increase from the previous year, placing the country among the world’s top six or seven weapons exporters. Polish officials cite the success of Israel’s model as a benchmark for the European Union’s SAFE programme, which aims to create up to 250,000 jobs and fund purchases of new military equipment such as the “Baobab”, “Crab” and “Wolverine” systems. The Polish government stresses the need to avoid stockpiling obsolete gear and looks to the Ukrainian drone sector as an example of rapid innovation.

At the ILA Berlin 2026 trade fair (10‑14 June), Israeli firm Rafael Advanced Defense Systems showcased its Iron Dome air‑defence system, marking the technology’s 15th anniversary of operational use. Rafael also displayed complementary systems—including David’s Sling, Iron Beam laser weapons and a range of precision‑strike munitions—tailored for European and NATO defence requirements. The exhibition highlights the growing international demand for Israeli combat‑technology solutions.
