Israel's Defense Minister Yisrael Katz vows to block new Iranian threats after Khamenei's death
Israel's defense minister Yisrael Katz warned that any Iranian leader who attempts to revive plans against Israel will be stopped. He said Israel is ready to defend itself "at any time and against any threat" and stressed that the U.S.–Israel attacks have severely damaged Iran's strategic capabilities.
Katz made the statements on the day Tehran held massive funeral processions for Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who was killed in a U.S.–Israel strike on 28 February. While the nation mourned, Katz emphasized Israel's willingness to respond militarily to any renewed Iranian aggression. He also noted ongoing diplomatic efforts, referencing the June 17 memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States aimed at ending the military conflict.
