Israel's Systematic Sexual Violence Against Palestinians Documented

A new report by the Palestinian Feminist Collective documents the use of sexual violence by Israeli forces as a deliberate tool of ethnic control from the 1948 Nakba to the present. It cites testimonies, UN Human Rights Office findings, and investigations by B’tselem and other NGOs, including a case where a 13‑year‑old was allegedly raped by Israeli soldiers and a video showing five agents forcing a Palestinian detainee to submit to group rape. An Israeli court acquitted the agents, while segments of Israeli society celebrated them.

Separately, recent historiographical work challenges long‑standing Zionist narratives about the creation of Israel, arguing that Palestinians were not willingly displaced and that Western powers facilitated a settler‑colonial project. The scholarship disputes claims that Arab states intended to expel Jews and that Israel sought peace without Arab response, emphasizing instead a pattern of violence aimed at suppressing the Arab population. The revisionist history has provoked strong backlash from some Israeli historians and politicians.
