ISRO Bengaluru headquarters bomb threat traced to Uttar Pradesh suspect

The Bengaluru City Police confirmed that a bomb‑threat email sent to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) headquarters in Bengaluru on July 2 was a hoax. An investigation team traced the email to Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, where the suspect, identified as unemployed Nishanth Tyagi, was apprehended. Police described Tyagi as mentally ill and seized the electronic device used to compose the threat. A second bomb‑threat email was later received, but it originated from a different individual and is also under investigation.

The case has been registered, and further forensic analysis of the seized device is ongoing.
