ISS astronauts Jessica Meir and Sophie Adenot complete historic spacewalk

NASA astronaut Jessica Meir and ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot completed a historic six-hour and 49-minute spacewalk outside the International Space Station. This mission marked the sixth all-female spacewalk in history.

The primary objectives included installing a navigation retroreflector to assist future spacecraft docking, replacing high-definition cameras, and preparing the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer for upcoming maintenance. The astronauts also collected biological samples from the station's exterior to study microorganisms in space.

The mission faced a minor technical delay when Adenot experienced restricted mobility in her left arm. The issue was caused by a heater harness snagging on the joint module. Meir successfully resolved the problem by opening the module's zipper to free the wiring, allowing Adenot to regain movement before they returned to the airlock.
