Sophie Adenot ISS mission events

In July 2026 ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot, who is aboard the International Space Station on the SpaceX Crew‑12 mission, participated in a public outreach event. On 22 July she joined a live video call hosted by the Cité de l’Espace in Toulouse and streamed to science centres in Finland, Germany, Portugal and other European venues. The session, organized with ESA’s ESERO education programme, allowed visitors and schoolchildren to ask questions and marked the 20‑year anniversary of ESA’s STEM‑education initiative.

Later in the month, a NASA document announced that Adenot is being prepared for a series of extravehicular activities scheduled for August 2026. She is slated to perform the first French spacewalk on 6 August, with additional EVAs planned on 13 and 25 August for antenna replacement and other maintenance. The upcoming EVA would make her the first Frenchwoman and the second European woman to conduct a spacewalk, following Italy’s Samantha Cristoforetti.

Together, these developments show Adenot’s active role in both public engagement and operational duties on the ISS during the summer of 2026.
