ISSSTE announces hospital air conditioning renovation project

The Mexican Social Security Institute (ISSSTE) has announced a federal project to renovate air conditioning systems in several hospitals following reports of inadequate climate control. In Chihuahua, medical subdelegate Marcelo Ramírez acknowledged that aging infrastructure in facilities like the Hospital General Lázaro Cárdenas requires comprehensive updates. Work has already begun in Ciudad Cuauhtémoc, with plans to expand to Chihuahua City, Ciudad Juárez, and Parral.

Simultaneously, workers at the ISSSTE Hospital General in La Paz, Baja California Sur, have denounced extreme heat in the pathology department. Staff reported that high temperatures create difficult working conditions and pose risks to the stability of chemical substances and pathological samples. These complaints follow a recent visit to the region by President Claudia Sheinbaum, where she discussed improvements to the national health system.
