ISSSTE Clinic Opens in San Buenaventura, Coahuila

Martí Batres Guadarrama, director of Mexico's Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado (ISSSTE), inaugurated the new Unidad de Medicina Familiar in San Buenaventura, Coahuila, on 19 June 2026. The facility, built with an investment of more than 10.9 million pesos, spans 1,400 sqm on a 1,700 sqm site and is equipped to serve over 4,000 right‑holders in the region.

The clinic offers general, dental, geriatrics and preventive care, a pharmacy, clinical archive and a tele‑medicine system linking patients to specialists in Saltillo. It employs electronic clinical records and digital prescriptions, aiming to improve management of chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension. Local officials highlighted that the centre eliminates the need for teachers and other residents of municipalities such as Ocampo, Abasolo and Cuatro Ciénegas to travel to Monclova for basic health services, providing a significant boost to regional health access.
