Health authorities promote blood donation and medical referrals in Argentina and Spain
Various health organizations in Argentina and Spain are conducting initiatives to promote blood donation and medical access.
In Argentina, the Instituto de Seguridad Social y Seguros (ISSyS) in Chubut is emphasizing the importance of voluntary blood donation for surgeries and oncological treatments. Requirements for donors include being between 18 and 65 years old, weighing over 50 kilograms, and being in good health. Additionally, a blood drive is scheduled in Oro Verde, where individuals can also register as bone marrow donors.
In Jujuy, the Instituto de Seguros de Jujuy (ISJ) has authorized 145 medical referrals for affiliates to receive specialized treatments in other provinces, including Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Tucumán, and Salta. These referrals cover transportation, accommodation, and an escort for complex cases such as renal transplant controls.
In Spain, the Servicio Canario de la Salud (SCS) has deployed a mobile unit to El Rosario to facilitate blood donations for residents and visitors, offering two shifts to increase accessibility.
