Istanbul beach discovery of suspected unmanned aerial vehicle

A suspected unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was discovered washed up on the shore of Yeniköy beach in the Arnavutköy district of Istanbul. The object was spotted by pedestrians walking along the coastline.

Following reports from citizens, gendarmerie and Coast Guard Command personnel arrived at the scene to conduct an initial assessment. Security measures were implemented to clear the area, and the object was subsequently removed for further investigation.

The Coast Guard Command has taken the device for detailed technical analysis to determine its origin and nature. Preliminary assessments suggest the possibility that the object may be related to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war. Authorities stated that the exact identity and source of the UAV will be confirmed once technical examinations are complete.
