Ümraniye crash: construction truck hits car making U‑turn, five injured

Around 01:30 a.m. on Küçüksu Caddesi in the İnkılap neighbourhood of Ümraniye, Istanbul, a 42 ABB 15 construction (hafriyat) truck driven by A. K. collided with a 34 GS 070 car driven by A. A., who was attempting a U‑turn. The impact pushed the car onto the median, against traffic signs and then into the opposite lane where it stopped in a wooded area. Bystanders and emergency crews rescued the occupants; fire‑fighters cut the car’s door to free the driver, who sustained serious injuries, while three passengers received less severe injuries. All five victims were taken to hospitals by ambulance, and police opened an investigation into the accident.
