Istanbul forecast: local showers Monday night and strong north‑easterly winds Tuesday, AKOM says

Turkey’s Disaster and Risk Management Directorate (AKOM) issued a detailed weather outlook for Istanbul for July 12‑18, 2026. Temperatures are expected to stay between 22 °C and 33 °C throughout the period, with humidity ranging from 40 % to 80 % and sea‑water temperature at about 24 °C.

No rain is forecast for Sunday, July 12. Localised rain showers are predicted to begin Monday night (July 13) and continue intermittently until Tuesday midday (July 14), with precipitation amounts of 3‑7 kg per square metre and thunderstorm activity. Strong north‑easterly (poyraz) winds are forecast to gust between 10 and 40 km/h during the same interval. From Wednesday onward the forecast calls for clear or partly‑cloudy skies and no further rain, while temperatures remain in the typical summer range.

AKOM urges residents to monitor the “attention” alerts for the rain‑shower window and the gusty wind conditions.
