Istanbul heat surge expected mid‑week with heavy showers on Saturday
The Turkish State Meteorological Service (AKOM) issued a six‑day forecast for Istanbul covering 14 June to 20 June. Temperatures are set to climb from the high teens to a peak of 29‑31 °C during the weekdays, with humidity between 50 % and 75 % and light to moderate south‑west winds. A strong north‑easterly (Poyraz) wind of 15‑35 km/h is expected to alternate throughout the week.
No rain is predicted from Sunday through Friday. Saturday will bring a shift to overcast skies and a brief but intense shower, with rainfall estimated at 5‑15 kg per square metre and daytime highs dropping to about 27 °C. Authorities advise citizens to stay hydrated during the heat and to carry umbrellas for the Saturday downpour.
