Istanbul Marathon preparations include sports fair and charity runs

The 48th Istanbul Marathon, sponsored by Türkiye İş Bankası, is approaching with several preparatory events. A Marathon and Sports Fair will be held from October 29 to 31 at the Dr. Mimar Kadir Topbaş Show and Art Center in Yenikapı. Hosted by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and Spor İstanbul, the fair will feature various sports brands, technology, and food, alongside activities such as yoga, Zumba, and HIIT sessions. Approximately 23,500 runners registered for the 42K and 15.5K categories will collect their race kits during the fair.

In addition to the competitive aspects, the event serves a social purpose. Athletes Çiçek Şensoy and İdil Gazioğlu will participate in the marathon to support the Community Volunteers Foundation (TOG), aiming to raise funds for youth development projects. The marathon, which holds a Gold Label status, is scheduled for November 1 and expects approximately 45,000 participants across four categories: 42K, 15.5K, Corporate Run, and Public Run.
