Istanbul Marathon registration deadline set for July 31

The 48th Turkey İş Bankası Istanbul Marathon will be held on Sunday, 1 November 2024, spanning the continents of Europe and Asia. The discounted registration period ends at 23:59 local time on 31 July, allowing runners to sign up for the 42‑km and 15.5‑km races for 1,200 TRY; fees increase to 1,400 TRY from 1 August.

The 42‑km course starts at the Şehitler Bridge on 15 July and finishes in Sultanahmet, with a quota of 7,500 runners. The 15.5‑km race also starts at the bridge and ends in Yenikapı, accommodating up to 15,000 participants. Entrants must be at least 18 years old for the full marathon and 16 years old for the shorter distance. A 6.5‑km corporate run opens registration on 4 August, costing 1,850 TRY, with proceeds supporting NGOs. The event holds World Athletics Gold Label status, ranking among the world’s elite marathons. Last year’s edition saw a record 39,000 finishers, including 4,568 who completed the full distance.
