Istanbul authorities conduct operations against FETO structures
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has coordinated several simultaneous operations targeting the FETO/PDY organization. These operations focused on three main areas: the organization's structure within public institutions, its current cellular activities, and its communication networks.
In one investigation, 19 suspects were detained regarding the organization's influence on past recruitment processes for judicial staff, including clerks, guards, and ushers. This group includes at least one currently serving public employee. Investigators utilized ByLock communication records and organizational lists to identify those involved.
Separate operations targeted the organization's use of safe houses to hide fugitives. In these raids, authorities identified individuals providing financial and logistical support to help fugitives avoid capture and facilitate illegal travel abroad. During these specific operations in Istanbul, six suspects were detained, and approximately 3.17 million Turkish Lira in foreign currency and various digital materials were seized.
