Turkish law enforcement operations in Istanbul
Overview
Turkish authorities have conducted multiple security operations in Istanbul targeting various criminal and organizational activities.
In mid-October, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office coordinated simultaneous operations against the FETO/PDY organization. These actions targeted the group’s influence within public institutions, cellular activities, and communication networks. Specifically, 19 suspects were detained in connection with the organization’s influence on judicial staff recruitment processes. Additionally, raids on safe houses used to hide fugitives led to the detention of six suspects and the seizure of approximately 3.17 million Turkish Lira in foreign currency alongside digital materials.
Later in the month, security forces in the Sarıyer district apprehended two individuals subject to international arrest warrants. Authorities are currently verifying the identities of these suspects and reviewing legal documentation to determine potential extradition or further legal proceedings.
