Authorities in Istanbul have launched an investigation into the suspicious death of 48-year-old Müyesser Kartav, who was found unresponsive in her bedroom in the Sarıyer district on October 6.

Kartav was discovered by her 16-year-old daughter upon returning home from school. Investigations revealed that Kartav had undergone gastric bypass surgery at a private hospital in Kağıthane approximately five months prior. Following the procedure, she reportedly experienced frequent health issues that required medical attention.

Due to the suspicious nature of the death, the body was sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute to determine the exact cause of death. Following the initial investigation and local ceremonies, Kartav was buried in her hometown of Ağaçkesen village in Safranbolu, Karabük.
