Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport Sets Daily Flight and Passenger Record
On 2 August 2026, Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport recorded its highest ever daily traffic, handling 919 flights and serving 174,325 passengers. The surge marked a new operational milestone for the airport, which is among the busiest in Turkey and Europe.
The record was achieved through coordinated planning between the Airport Ground Services Authority (HEAŞ) and the terminal operator ISG. HEAŞ oversaw air‑traffic management, apron, runway and field operations, while ISG managed passenger flow, security, cleaning and guidance inside the terminal. Their joint effort ensured uninterrupted service, safety and comfort for travelers throughout the busy day.
