Istanbul to host 2027 Spanish Super Cup

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has confirmed that Istanbul, Turkey, will host the 2027 Spanish Super Cup. The tournament is scheduled to take place from February 2 to February 7, 2027, at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium.

The decision to move the event to Turkey is a temporary measure due to a scheduling conflict in Saudi Arabia, which will be hosting the 2027 Asian Cup during the same period. The competition is expected to return to Saudi Arabia in 2028.

Despite the change in location, the Saudi General Entertainment Authority (GEA) will maintain its involvement, with Riyadh Season serving as the official sponsor. Turki Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the GEA, expressed satisfaction with the arrangement, noting it as a beginning of a great relationship between the two nations.

The 2027 tournament will feature four major Spanish clubs: FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atlético de Madrid, and Real Sociedad. The RFEF emphasized that the hosting agreement ensures continued financial benefits for nearly one thousand Spanish football clubs across various categories.
