Istanbul stabbing: Motorcyclist injured in Şişli road rage dispute
A traffic dispute over right-of-way in the Şişli district of Istanbul escalated into a violent stabbing on Tuesday afternoon. The altercation began between minibus driver Sertaç K. and motorcyclist Servan E. in the Merkez neighborhood.
The conflict intensified when Yasin K., the brother of the minibus driver, intervened and stabbed Servan E. three times in the abdomen and armpit area. One of the wounds reportedly damaged the victim's lung. Following medical intervention, Servan E. was transferred to Okmeydanı Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşcıoğlu City Hospital, where he underwent surgery; he is reported to be in non-life-threatening condition.
Police seized a 10-centimeter knife used in the attack. Yasin K. was arrested on charges of ‘intentional injury,’ while Sertaç K. was released under judicial control. Security and mobile phone footage captured the moments of the fight and the stabbing.
