Istanbul urban transformation drives surge in moving services
The professional moving and logistics sector in Turkey is experiencing significant growth, driven largely by urban transformation projects in Istanbul. According to Erdoğan Bağlar, President of the Evden Eve Nakliyeciler Derneği, demand for moving and storage services related to urban renewal has increased by 60-70% compared to the previous year.
In Istanbul, daily relocations have reached nearly 5,000. High demand is particularly concentrated in districts such as Bağcılar, Zeytinburnu, and Avcılar on the European side, as well as Kartal, Kadıköy, and Üsküdar on the Anatolian side. This surge is further supported by the summer season and the official transfer periods for public personnel, including military, police, and judicial staff.
Beyond Istanbul, there is rising interest in intercity moving services involving major hubs like Izmir and Bursa. Factors such as job changes, education, and marriage are contributing to the need for professional relocation services that offer specialized packaging, furniture disassembly, and secure transport to ensure the safety of household goods during long-distance transit.
