Municipal authorities continued to advance urban‑renewal projects across Turkey. In İzmir’s Bornova district, Mayor Ömer Eşki inspected the rapidly growing Doğanlar neighbourhood and ordered renovation of Uzun Alioğlu Park, road repairs and a drainage upgrade with the city water utility, while promising a new health centre, sports field and community garden. In eastern Turkey, Erzurum’s mayor Mehmet Sekmen handed over the Alipaşa housing complex (70 residential units, 41 commercial premises, 10 offices) and inaugurated the second phase that will add about 8,000 m² of new shops, underground parking and administrative space, stressing historic‑preservation and earthquake‑resistant construction.

Construction expert Ömer Develioğlu reiterated that land‑owner‑contractor disputes and unfinished buildings remain key safety risks, calling for experienced, well‑capitalised contractors. Osmaniye Governor Mehmet Fatih Serdengeçti reported that 5,432 of the 10,578 planned homes have been delivered since the 2023 earthquake, and outlined a 77.3 billion‑lira provincial budget covering 179 projects, including an 84 % complete high‑speed rail corridor and an 80 % complete Savrun Dam, plus new schools, hospitals, water‑supply works and industrial‑zone expansion.

State‑owned developer Emlak Konut GYO launched the Fatih Kentsel Dönüşüm project in Istanbul’s historic Fatih district, delivering 338 new homes, three caretaker apartments and a 338‑vehicle garage with a 1.537 billion‑lira investment. In Mersin Province, Tarsus municipality began the İsmetpaşa Mahallesi redevelopment, planning 11 blocks with 446 residential units and 48 commercial premises, emphasizing quality materials and rapid delivery. Together, these updates show Turkey’s broad, multi‑city push to replace aging neighbourhoods with modern, resilient housing and infrastructure while grappling with contractual and safety challenges.
