Itaú changes VIP lounge access rules for premium cardholders

Itaú is implementing new rules for its Uniclass credit card segment, shifting away from automatic airport lounge access based solely on card tier. Under the new strategy, access to VIP lounges will increasingly depend on a combination of the customer's relationship level with the bank and their minimum monthly spending.

This change may extend to other premium products, such as the Personnalité The Essential card, which is positioned as an intermediate tier within the bank's premium lineup. This trend reflects a broader shift in the credit card market where premium status no longer guarantees unconditional benefits.

In the cooperative sector, competition remains high between premium offerings like the Unicred Visa Ímpar and the Sicoob Zenith. While Unicred focuses on international purchases and Visa Airport Companion access, Sicoob offers a lower annual fee and higher domestic point accumulation, highlighting different value propositions for high-income clients.
