Animal welfare initiatives expand across Latin America and Spain

Various regions are implementing programs to enhance animal health and welfare through vaccination, sterilization, and professional training.

In Argentina, several municipalities are conducting rabies vaccination and adoption drives. Río Grande is hosting sessions for dogs and cats, while Luján has scheduled a series of neighborhood-based vaccination campaigns throughout November. In Villa María, a mobile clinic recently completed 88 free sterilizations to control pet populations. Additionally, Club Comunicaciones in Buenos Aires is offering free clinical check-ups and parasite prevention.

In Mexico, Saltillo is launching a low-cost feline sterilization campaign, and Atizapán de Zaragoza has certified its emergency personnel in animal welfare evaluation standards to improve rescue operations. In Colombia, Itagüí and Coahuila are providing sterilization and veterinary services to promote responsible pet ownership.

In Ecuador, a survey by Boehringer Ingelheim highlights that 96% of veterinarians focus on detecting hidden health issues in companion animals. Meanwhile, in Spain, the town of Villena held a solidarity event featuring a dog race and canine march to support local animal shelters.
