Italian 13th and 14th Pension Payments to Romanian Retirees

Italy will issue the 13th (tredicesima) and 14th (quattordicesima) pension payments for 2026. The extra 14th pension is granted to pensioners who meet specific age and income thresholds, while the 13th pension is a standard December supplement for all eligible retirees.

Romanian pensioners who receive Italian pensions must complete the annual REDEST 2026 form, which records income earned in 2025. INPS uses the declaration to verify eligibility for the additional payments. The REDEST 2026 campaign opened on 25 May 2026; a parallel REDEST 2025 campaign was also reopened for 2024 income, while the REDEST 2024 window closed on 31 March 2026. Those who missed the 2023 declaration can request a “ricostituzione” to have their rights recalculated.

Payments are scheduled for August 2026, coinciding with the legal holiday of Saint Mary Major. The process applies to all pensioners with Italian pension rights, regardless of whether they have other income sources in Romania.
