Italian agricultural delegation to visit Algiers for sector modernization
A delegation of 15 Italian companies specializing in the agricultural sector is scheduled to visit Algiers on September 28 and 29 to explore cooperation opportunities with local operators. Organized by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) in partnership with FederUnacoma, the Italian federation of agricultural machinery manufacturers, the mission aims to modernize Algeria’s agricultural production through advanced technology.
The cooperation focuses on five strategic areas: agricultural machinery and livestock, digitalization of farming activities, smart irrigation systems, nursery and arboriculture, and storage infrastructure. Proposed solutions include soil cultivation equipment, crop health monitoring tools, water-saving devices, and post-harvest conservation technologies designed to address climate change challenges and improve yields in strategic sectors like cereals.
The program includes an institutional seminar and B2B meetings on the first day, followed by field visits to farms in the Algiers region on the second day to better understand local production constraints and technical requirements.
