Italian Agriculture Ministry Advances Payments, Tackles Olive Oil Crisis

At the Commissione Politiche Agricole meeting held in Sibari, Minister of Agriculture Francesco Lollobrigida and regional officials announced that the advance on the single payment (anticipo sulla domanda unica) for farmers will be paid by the end of August, earlier than the usual October schedule, with the balance expected by 31 January. The acceleration is intended to support producers facing international supply disruptions, especially in the olive sector.

The next CPA meeting will take place in Bari on 24 September during the Fiera del Levante. Regional assessors will present a package of operational proposals to address the olive oil crisis, including storage solutions and the possible declaration of a state of crisis for the sector. Officials aim to build a common position to present to the national government, with the minister expected to attend.
