Italian agrifood exports target 700 billion euro milestone

Italian agrifood exports are driving the nation toward a 700 billion euro total for Made in Italy products. At the SIAL Paris exhibition, Matteo Zoppas, President of Agenzia ICE, highlighted that the agrifood sector contributes 72 billion euros to this total. Approximately 700 Italian companies are participating in the event, with 218 receiving direct support from ICE to facilitate international business deals.

The promotion of Italian food products is further bolstered by the recent UNESCO recognition of Italian cuisine as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This cultural prestige is being integrated into the commercial storytelling of Italian brands to navigate international complexities and tariff barriers.

In separate domestic developments, Italian President Sergio Mattarella and Commission President Chiara Gribaudo have emphasized the urgent need to improve workplace safety. Gribaudo has proposed a new pact to provide state-funded legal assistance to victims of workplace accidents and their families, aiming to treat safety as a fundamental prerequisite rather than a mere bureaucratic requirement.
