SIAL Paris 2026 food industry exhibition
Overview
The SIAL Paris 2026 exhibition, held October 17–21 at the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition center, serves as a global platform for the food industry to address shifts in consumer behavior, sustainability, and technological acceleration.
Italy maintains a significant presence with approximately 700 companies showcasing the ‘Made in Italy’ brand. Matteo Zoppas, President of the Italian Trade Agency (Agenzia ICE), noted that ICE is directly supporting 218 businesses to facilitate internationalization and help small and medium-sized enterprises navigate market complexities and tariff barriers. This participation supports a national export goal of 700 billion euros for the agrifood sector.
Southeast Asian nations are utilizing the event to promote their sectors. Malaysia, through the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), opened a pavilion featuring 43 companies, while Vietnamese businesses are also participating to promote agricultural and food products.
Other international delegations include Brazil’s largest-ever pavilion, the Spanish seafood and aquaculture industry, and South Korean manufacturers targeting the European market with products ranging from instant noodles to K-desserts. India participated as a partner country through the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO). ITPO President Jawed Ashraf highlighted an agricultural revolution in India driven by small-scale farmers and the integration of technology, such as drones, AI, and IoT. The Indian pavilion featured over 140 exporters focusing on plant-based proteins and rice.
Paraguay, represented by a delegation of 12 companies coordinated by the Paraguayan Chia Exporters Chamber (Capachía), is highlighting chia, sesame, and processed goods like oils and flours. Moroccan group Zine Capital Invest introduced its new biscuit brand, Kex, to promote the ‘Made in Morocco’ label. Serbian producers concluded the event by signing 11 contracts totaling €2.8 million, with further export deals expected to reach approximately €9 million.
