Italian Alpine Rescue Teams Airlift Injured Hikers in Lazio and Marche

A 30‑year‑old man from Acilia slipped while helping his dog on Monte Viglio near Filettino in the province of Frosinone. He suffered a severe leg fracture and was rescued by the Lazio Alpine and Speleological Rescue Service. The team deployed a helicopter, winched the victim aboard, and flew him to Tor Vergata Hospital in Rome.

In the Marche region, a climber fell from the Falesia del Re in the municipality of Piobbico. The Marche Alpine and Speleological Rescue Service responded with an Icaro 02 medical helicopter, using a winch to extract the injured climber and transport him to a medical facility in Cagli for further treatment.
