Italian apiculture sees regional festivals and national awards
Italian apiculture is seeing both regional celebrations and national recognition. In Châtillon, the 23rd Honey Festival and its derivatives will take place from October 23 to 25. Organized by the Municipality of Châtillon and the Valle d'Aosta Beekeeping Consortium Association, the event aims to promote biodiversity and support the transmission of technical skills to new generations of beekeepers. The festival will also host the 32nd edition of the Valle d'Aosta regional honey competition.
On a national level, Apicoltura Danilov, based in the hills of Calosso, has been awarded ‘Una Goccia d’Oro’ at the 46th ‘Grandi Mieli d’Italia – Premio Giulio Piana’ national competition. Beekeeper Toshe Davilov received the honor for his Millefiori honey, following a previous award for acacia honey in 2025. The award was presented in Castel San Pietro Terme, recognizing the quality and seasonal authenticity of the local production.
