Italian athletes compete in major sporting events in Austria

Various Italian athletes are competing in high-level sporting events held in Austria.

In the climbing discipline, 22 members of the Italian youth national team are participating in the World Climbing Europe Youth Series at the Kletterzentrum in Imst. The competition features both Lead and Speed disciplines. Following successful performances in Dornbirn and St. Pölten, notable athletes include Gianluca Vighetti, a former U19 Lead European Cup winner, and Giovanni Bagnoli. The female contingent is led by Margherita Pernigotti.

In triathlon, athletes Biagio Puzzolante, Michele Lecce, and Giovanni Placentino completed the IRONMAN 70.3 Zell am See-Kaprun. The event, part of the Experience Oman IRONMAN Pro Series, involved a 1.9 km swim in Lake Zell, a 90.1 km cycling course through the Alpine terrain, and a 21.1 km run.
