Italian athletes secure victories in rally and sailing championships

Italian competitors achieved significant success in international and regional sporting events. In sailing, the crew of “Mela,” led by owner and helmsman Andrea Rossi, won the RS21 World Championship in Cannes, France. The victory followed a competitive nine-race series involving 39 crews from 14 nations, with the final standings shifting during the last day of racing. The top four boats in the championship were all Italian.

In motorsport, Porto Cervo Racing secured third place in the team standings at the Rally dei Nuraghi e del Vermentino. The team finished at the top of the Coppa Rally di Zona standings, earning three crews the right to compete in the National Final of the Coppa Italia Rally in Lucca this November. The qualifying crews include Auro Siddi and Marco Corda, Mirco Lorrai and Eleonora Murgia, and Pietro Lilliu and Silvia Piras.
