Italian banks launch initiatives to combat digital fraud
Italian financial institutions are implementing educational programs to increase awareness of cybersecurity and prevent digital fraud.
Bper Banca has launched a series of four free monthly webinars designed for both clients and the general public. Led by Chief Information Security Officer Alessandro Bulgarelli and CertFin Technical Coordinator Mario Trinchera, the sessions aim to provide practical tools for recognizing online threats and protecting data. This initiative is part of a broader effort to support digital innovation while ensuring secure technology use for citizens and businesses.
In Gallarate, Banco BPM partnered with the State Police to host an awareness event titled ‘Io non ci casco!’. The session focused on identifying financial scams and protecting savings. Speakers included Davide Cenni from Banco BPM’s Cyber Defense & Fraud Management team and State Police Inspector Francesco Cantarello. The event highlighted the vulnerability of the over-65 population to cyber threats and emphasized the importance of communicating with banks and law enforcement to prevent fraud.
