Italian beach tourism bookings jump 76% for 2026 season

(Adnkronos) – The 2026 Italian beach‑season bookings show a strong upturn. Spiagge.it reports total reservation value of €11.3 million, up 48% year‑on‑year, with the number of bookings rising from 63 000 to 105 000 (+66%). The long weekend of 2 June alone recorded 44 000 reservations, a 76% increase over the same period in 2025.

Domestic demand drives the surge: 90% of bookings come from Italian users, whose reservations grew from 45 000 to 79 000 (+73%). International bookings rose from 18 000 to 26 000 (+48%), now representing 25% of total demand. Among foreign tourists, the United States leads with 31% of overseas reservations, followed by Germany (19%), the United Kingdom (10%) and Austria (7%). Positone is the top destination for foreign visitors (22% of their bookings), while Jesolo, Grado, Monopoli and other Italian seaside towns remain the most popular overall.

He adds that operators must adapt services and communication to the mixed domestic‑international audience to gain a competitive edge.
