Italian Carabinieri rescue child in Palermo and elderly man in Lecce

In Palermo, Carabinieri officers Pietro Dazzio and Giuseppe Palmiero intervened when a child was found unconscious in a vehicle stuck in traffic. The officers cleared the way, escorted the parents' car to the Giovanni Di Cristina pediatric hospital and secured the child's prompt medical treatment, crediting their rapid response for saving the boy’s life.

In the Salento region, Carabinieri from the Cavallino station responded to a 112 call about an 85‑year‑old man from Turin who had wandered from the Vito Fazzi hospital in Lecce. After confirming his condition, they coordinated with emergency medical services and the local community. The search continued through the night, and the man was located safe in the Gallipoli area and transferred to the Santa Caterina Novella hospital for further checks. Both incidents highlight the Carabinieri’s role in immediate emergency assistance and coordination with health services.
