Italian Catholic groups launch Franciscan‑inspired summer programs

The Oratorio Estivo 2026 in Lissone announced a summer program built around the spirit of Saint Francis, inviting children and adolescents to experience faith, friendship and care for creation through games, walks and workshops. The initiative, scheduled to begin on 31 May 2026, emphasizes simplicity, joy and solidarity as taught by the saint.

On 14 June 2026, the Diocese of Massa‑Carrara‑Pontremoli will hold a family festival at the Villaggio del Fanciullo in Lunigiana. Organized by the pastoral family team, the event commemorates the 800th anniversary of Saint Francis’s death and focuses on ecological stewardship and communal values. Activities include group sessions for adults, youth and children, a packed‑lunch picnic, games, visits to “Laudato Si” stations and a concluding Mass presided over by Bishop Mario Vaccari.
