Italian Civil Service expands with new Florence placements and Calabria training

The Regional Service Civile program in Tuscany can now be undertaken within the CGIL Florence network. The initiative, part of the Giovanisì scheme, invites Italians aged 18 to 29 to apply for one‑year placements in three projects focused on youth rights, labor, inclusion and cultural research. Eight positions are available for the "Accoglienza" projects in Florence and surrounding towns, and four for a cultural‑rights project in Florence. Participants receive a monthly stipend of €507.30 and a certificate of skills. Applications close on 10 June 2026 via the official Giovanisì portal.

Separately, the Italian Red Cross (CRI) organized two days of mandatory tutoring for Universal Civil Service volunteers in Gioia Tauro, Calabria, on 11‑12 May. The event, hosted at “Le Cisterne” and attended by regional CRI officials and local authorities, provided training and professional development for volunteers from various territorial committees, reinforcing the program’s focus on personal and professional competency building.
