Italy adds accessible beach chairs in Martinsicuro and Barletta

Two Italian coastal towns have installed specialised beach chairs to improve sea access for people with disabilities. In Martinsicuro, two "sedie Job" chairs were placed on the free beach near the Hotel Sympathy, allowing wheelchair users and those with limited mobility to move easily on sand and enter the water. Municipal officials highlighted the move as a concrete action toward inclusion and barrier‑free tourism.

Barletta received two "sedie Tuareg" floating chairs under the C. Os. T. A. project, funded by the Regione Puglia and the Ministry for Disabilities. The chairs will serve the inclusive beaches of Levante and Ponente, expanding accessible tourism on the city’s coasts. Both initiatives form part of a broader regional effort to promote inclusive, sustainable tourism and to meet the rights of citizens and visitors with disabilities.
