Italian commission reopens Emanuela Orlandi disappearance case

An Italian parliamentary commission is reopening the investigation into the 1983 disappearance of Emanuela Orlandi. The investigation has been refocused due to a mysterious diary entry containing a school joke.

Orlandi, the daughter of a former Vatican employee, vanished on June 22, 1983. As part of the ongoing inquiry, a French teacher who assigned Orlandi remedial exams at the time of her disappearance is scheduled to testify at Palazzo San Macuto. Additionally, the commission plans to hear from Alessandra Bellucci, a former classmate of Mirella Gregori, as part of its efforts to uncover new details in the decades-old case.
