Italian communities honor centenarians Teresa Ponticorvo and Angela Basso

In San Giorgio a Cremano, Mayor Michele Carbone and local clergy visited Teresa Ponticorvo to celebrate her 100th birthday. Ponticorvo, originally from Castellammare di Stabia, previously managed a bridal atelier with her husband. The Mayor noted that elderly citizens serve as the living memory of their communities.

In Pordenone, Angela Basso celebrated her 101st birthday. She received visits from the mayors of both Pordenone and Cordenons at her care home. The visit fulfilled a promise made by Pordenone Mayor Alessandro Basso to return for her 101st birthday following her centenary celebration the previous year.
