Italian communities raise over €110,000 in solidarity fundraisers for a child’s treatment in Mexico and a firefighter’s
Two Italian solidarity campaigns have together raised more than €110,000 for families in need. In the town of San Framondo, a GoFundMe drive for 12‑year‑old Filena, who suffers from spastic tetraparesis, surpassed €63,000, covering travel and a 40‑day intensive treatment at the Neurocytonix clinic in Monterrey, Mexico. The fundraiser drew over 1,050 donors and support from local institutions, businesses and the bishop of the diocese.
In the Trentino community of Meano, volunteer firefighters organized a GoFundMe appeal after the sudden death of their commander, Martino Debiasi, age 30. The campaign reached €50,000, providing financial aid to his partner Sara and their son Gabriele. More than 700 donors contributed, reflecting the close ties within the fire brigade and the wider town.
