Italian community groups expand social transport services

Local community initiatives in Italy are expanding social transport and support services through new vehicle acquisitions.

In Falconara, a partnership between Ambito Territoriale Sociale 12 and the Fondazione ‘Progetti del Cuore’ has resulted in the delivery of a Fiat Doblò. The vehicle is intended for free social transport to assist elderly citizens, people with disabilities, and families in difficulty. The vehicle will be utilized by organizations such as Anteas, Unità di strada, and Unitalsi to facilitate access to essential services.

In Lugo, the social center ‘Il Tondo’ has added a new van to its fleet, bringing its total to seven vehicles. This acquisition was funded by donations from the company Icel and the Bcc bank. The center uses its fleet to distribute approximately 5,000 meals monthly to individuals in need across the Bassa Romagna territory, as well as to transport young people with disabilities and assist elderly residents with hospital visits.
