Italian cultural and religious traditions celebrated through art and festivals
In Sant’Andrea Apostolo dello Ionio, a new artistic project titled ‘La Passio di Santa Marina’ has been unveiled. Created by researcher Elena Di Fede in collaboration with artist Maria Carlotta Romeo, the ceramic work integrates archaeology and religious devotion. The project, supported by the Accademia di Belle Arti di Catanzaro and the local Pro Loco, aims to revitalize the territory's archaeological and artistic heritage by reinterpreting hagiographic scenes through ceramic art.
Meanwhile, in Porto Cesareo, celebrations are underway for the feast of Santa Cesarea Vergine. Running from August 19 to August 22, the event includes religious processions both on land and at sea, a solemn Mass, and cultural activities. The festivities, organized by the local municipality and the ‘Noi per Santa Cesarea’ committee, feature musical performances and traditional ceremonies to honor the city's patron saint.
