Italian cultural events highlight historical biography and regional literature
Two distinct cultural events were recently highlighted in Italy. At Montecitorio, a new book titled ‘Vito Donato Addabbo’, co-authored by Biagio Saracino and Giancarlo Parisi, was presented. The work commemorates the life of Vito Donato Addabbo, a carabinier from Avetrana who died on September 25, 1943, during the sinking of the British ship Dubac off the coast of Otranto following the September 8 armistice.
In a separate event, the novel ‘La fattoria del vento’ by Santino Oliverio was presented in a local council chamber. Published by Città del Sole Edizioni, the novel is deeply rooted in Calabrian reality, using a family saga to explore social changes and the tension between generations. The narrative focuses on characters who choose to remain in their land despite its complexities.
