Italian cultural initiatives launch new theater seasons and itinerant programs

Various cultural initiatives are expanding theatrical access across Italy. In Reggiolo, the Teatro Giovanni Rinaldi has announced its 2026-2027 season. Organized by Reggiolo Attiva APS with support from the Municipality of Reggiolo and the Emilia Romagna Region, the program includes prose, symphonic concerts, and art lectures. Due to logistics, events through late 2026 will be held at the Auditorium Fellini – Masina, with the program returning to the official Teatro Giovanni Rinaldi venue in January 2027.

In Calabria, the “Il Teatro senza Teatro” project is bringing live performances to various small towns and villages. This itinerant initiative, running from July 30 through August 20, 2026, utilizes a specialized truck that transforms into a stage to reach areas lacking traditional theaters. The project features twenty shows across twenty different municipalities and is funded by the Calabria Region. It involves several local theater companies and aims to turn natural village settings into performance spaces.
