Italian fire brigades receive funding for new stations in Trentino and Sardinia

In Cinte Tesino, Trentino, a €720,000 project to renovate and enlarge the local fire brigade barracks and warehouse was inaugurated on 1 July 2026 in the presence of provincial president Maurizio Fugatti. The province will contribute €562,902, and the works, awarded to a consortium of local firms, are slated to last about 240 days, adding modern facilities, a new garage, operational rooms and a multifunctional hall.

In Mandas, Sardinia, the municipal council approved the issuance of a €3.8 million grant from the Interior Ministry on 3 July 2026 to build a new permanent fire station. The investment, long awaited, will replace the outdated premises serving a wide area of central‑southern Sardinia and will improve response capacity for fires and civil‑protection emergencies.

Both projects are part of a broader effort by regional and national authorities to modernise Italy’s fire‑service infrastructure.
