Italian Foreign Minister Tajani urges Israel to respect limits and support Gaza reconstruction

Vice‑premier and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani told the Trento Economic Festival that the next phase after the cease‑fire in Gaza must focus on reconstruction, a return to normal life and the delivery of humanitarian aid. He said Italy can play a key role in Lebanon by strengthening legitimate institutions and stressed that friendship with Israel obliges honest criticism, warning Israel not to exceed a “limit that must not be crossed.”

Tajani referred to a joint document signed by Italy, Germany, France and the United Kingdom, later joined by other countries, calling for an end to settlement activities that threaten a two‑state solution. He also supported the French foreign minister’s call to sanction the Israeli minister of national security responsible for recent controversial actions.

The statements reflect coordinated European pressure on Israel regarding the Gaza conflict and emphasize Italy’s diplomatic involvement in the region.
