Italian Guardia di Finanza seizes diesel‑laden fuel truck in Vazzano

The Guardia di Finanza in Vibo Valentia stopped a fuel‑transport truck in the municipality of Vazzano, discovering a discrepancy between the documented load of 5,000 liters of diesel and the actual cargo of about 7,000 liters. The authorities seized the truck and the entire fuel load, citing irregularities under the accise (tax) regime.

The driver and the sole shareholder of the company that owns the truck were forwarded to the public prosecutor for violations of accise regulations. Investigators noted that the driver had already been subject to a precautionary measure in the earlier “Dedalo Petrolmafie” operation, highlighting ongoing efforts to combat fuel‑tax fraud in Italy.
